Thousands of One is very excited to announce the release of their third album at the Fingerlakes Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance, with their performances on Thursday in the Dance Tent and Friday on the Infield Stage. The album is named "Scarab". The cover is enshrined with the ancient Egyptian symbol of a scarab in recognition of the process of rejuvenation. The scarab, or dung beetle, was revered for its power to turn waste products into nutritious soil for the growth of food. Thousands of one has gone through a similar rejuvenation and emerged with unstoppable vigor and force.

Scarab by Thousands of One Thousands of One recorded the songs on Scarab over a year ago in Hatfield, Massachusetts with sound engineer Alan Evans, drummer for the band Soullive. It was tracked in one weekend with several of the songs nailed in one or two takes. This album is perhaps their most "live" sounding release to date. Producer and drummer Joel Blizzard mixed the album with a keen ear for maintaining an authentic rendition of the band's live sound, adding subtle electronic flourishes and overdubs.  Finally, the music found its way into the confident ears of Jocko Randall at More Sound Studio for a top notch mastering session. The band is very happy with the results. This album is ready for you.

Key contributions to the album include the incredible soul singer, Ayana Del Valle, featured on the track "Let Your Love Go", Alan Evans on backup vocals, and Rich Graiko of Westbound Train plays trumpet on nearly every track. Scarab also introduces the newest band member, Jake Roberts, playing guitar on the track "Ancestors" - a harbinger of things to come.

The album will be available for sale at the Grassroots Festival merchandise tent, next to the stage, during the performances of Thousands of One, and in a few regional record stores. It will also be available online through multiple distributors. Check back here at www.thousandsofone.com for links to purchase either the digital or hard copy.
