Thanks for checking in.  We have been very busy writing songs.  So busy, in fact, that we have forgotten to eat.. and do other necessary things.  There is a feeling in the air, in the waves that penetrate walls, skulls and brain tissue.  Something seems to be happening.  Of course, we are just receivers and senders, mere catalysts, relaying something we feel from you and to you.  You may notice a change lately.  As musicians we hear it in the form of newly released music by our fellow artists around the world, an underground current of creativity is popping!  Maybe the recession is good for art, maybe the collective unconscious is ringing with sonorous delight, maybe love is more important than politics.  Who knows.  We do know that cutting the edge of the moment with a sharp sound intensifies this experience for us all.  You have been there and you know it.

A couple weeks ago we had drove down to North Carolina to join with our brothers and sisters in the south and to play the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival.  It was a joyous adventure.  We made a round about stop in NYC for a show at the famed Nublu, ate veggies in the a.m. and then headed down to stay at Mark's moms house nearby Shakori Hills.  Recently we have added a part time trumpet player named Rich Graiko whose exploits with Westbound Train and The Toasters, recently led to a meaningful meeting of musical minds with Thousands of One. So we rehearsed with him all day in the presence of harps and plastic roaches, working out killer sections to pop off the hooks.  Friday night at Shakori was a night to remember, we hit the main stage at 9pm with a new song called "Set the Course" and let the vibes go from there.  Bubbles were blown and pine wood smoke saturated the air as the North Star guided our hearts and booties to the promised land.  Saturday in the dance tent was much the same (bubbles, pine wood smoke and a bumping crowd).  Our friend Jordan Puryear, the festival organizer, mixed the front of house sound through his homemade audiophile sound system for pristine recreation.  We hung with Donna the Buffalo, Toubab Krewe, Blue Sky Mission Club and a slew of new friends.  Thousands of One can't wait to make it back down south very soon.

This Saturday, come to Harlem!!!!  We play at The Shrine 10 til midnight.  It is the first gig in an as yet unending monthly residence.  We are VERY honored to be welcomed into this community.  Please let your friends know so that we can make it unforgettable.

PEACE
