Local Movements
Race Liberation Alliance
The Race Liberation Alliance is an Ithaca, NY based organization dedicated to:
- Exposing biological "race" as a social construct and racism as a social reality.
- Undoing racism and other patterns of oppression.
- Providing a safe and supportive if not always comfortable space to talk about race and racism.
- Connecting individuals and organizations that share a common goal of eradicating racism, and creating a just and sustainable community.
- Engaging in action that exposes, replaces, and/or transforms institutions that further ingrain racism and white privilege.
- Supporting sustainability in our community for all of our community members.
The Race Liberation Alliance of Ithaca, NY recognizes that the concept of race is an illusion while acknowledging that racism is real and directly related to capitalism and economic greed. Looking seven generations ahead, our vision is to build a sustainable community free of racism and other forms of oppression. We wish to become a unified community who shares local resources that provide for everyone's needs, including: health and well being, food and housing, safety and security, religious and spiritual faiths, education and the arts.

Emerald City
Ithaca past meets Ithaca future Dreams turn to action - We can work together to create the world we want our children's children's children to play in. This site is a communication hub for a growing network of people committing their skills to realize the kind of world we need right now. "The Emerald City" is an allegorical reference to the location and spiritual significance of the land that Ithaca sits upon, made by Frank L. Baum in his book the Wizard of Oz, written in Chittenango, NY, the yellow brick road is now route 13, which leads to Ithaca. This road was once a footpath for the Onieda Indians and countless extended tribes of the Haudenosaunee Nation (Iroquois) to reach the place of vision quest on Cayuga Lake, what is know known as Stewart Park. We look forward to a time when Ithaca can represent the true nature of its power to the world, for the love of future generations and the Earth.

The Peoples Garden Project is engaged in the steady task of planting gardens' in neglected city lands, re-educating the people on how to grow food, and bringing food surplus from this growth to those who need it. Look for PGP at Thousands of One events. Please donate.

Street Team people connect and build the community by promoting concerts and workshops. Every community has its character and only you know about both the needs of the community and perhaps a way to reach people. We are seeking people who will find ways in which Thousands of One can effectively support local movements concerning the youth, social equity and/or sustainability. The band has participated in many workshops, demonstrations and awareness raising events concerning community needs.
The time is crucial for our individual works to come together!

"Now, I'm free or so I think I am, though I remain ever vigilant. There are paddyrollers all about. There are any number of people who would willingly and quickly re-enslave me, restrict my freedom by any means necessary, and return me to an institution of enslavement. Prison. Drugs. Housing projects. Debt."

Leonard Peltier - Illegally imprisoned for 10869 days, thus far, for acts that he has been proven innocent of.
"Silence, they say, is the voice of complicity.
But silence is impossible.
Silence screams.
Silence is a message,
just as doing nothing is an act.
Let who you are ring out & resonate
in every word & every deed.
Yes, become who you are.
There's no sidestepping your own being
or your own responsibility.
What you do is who you are.
You are your own comeuppance.
You become your own message.
You are the message.
In the Spirit of Crazy Horse"
